What is Empty Bowl
Empty Bowl Hawai‘i is more than just an event in Honolulu. It’s a powerful, community-centered experience where art, food, and purpose come together to support food security and end hunger across the islands. Upon arrival, guests are invited to select a one-of-a-kind handmade pottery, handcrafted by local artists, students, and potters. These ceramic bowls serve as both a keepsake and a symbol—a tangible reminder that for too many in our communities, an empty bowl is a daily reality. With bowl in hand, guests can redeem tickets for a variety of delicious soups thoughtfully prepared by some of Hawai‘i’s most celebrated chefs, alongside other tasty bites. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of aloha, encouraging meaningful connections among guests.
